“LARGER THAN LIFE” SOUTHPOINTE HISTORIC MURAL UNVEILING AT
PRINTSCAPE ARENA AT SOUTHPOINTE ON APRIL 10, 2019 at 10:30AM
Canonsburg, PA – Printscape Arena at Southpointe is proud to announce the “Larger Than Life”
Southpointe Historic Mural that will be showcases at the Arena. The mural captures the history of
Southpointe from 1796 to the present with the mural consisting of five 9’ high x 6’ wide frames on
the wall behind the seating at the Printscape Arena in Southpointe. The Southpointe Historic Mural
appears to be painted on the wall extending for a total width of 30’ but is really the new
technology utilized by Printscape Imaging & Graphics.
The origin of the Southpointe Historic Mural dates to 1796 when Colonel George Morgan built the
first home in the Southpointe area of Canonsburg. Colonel Morgan (1743-1810) was assigned to Fort
Pitt to oversee diplomacy during the American Revolutionary War negotiating with Native American
Tribes in Western Pennsylvania to gain their support for the Americans vs. the British during the
war.
With additions to the original home, it was known as Morganza.

About Printscape Arena – Printscape Arena at Southpointe, owned by Black Bear Sports Group, Inc. is
a multi-purpose sports facility located in Canonsburg, PA. Opened in 1995, the 125,000 square-foot
facility has an annual foot traffic of over 815,000 people and is one of the South Hills most
heavily visited sports arenas. The facility includes one NHL-sized ice rink operating year-round
and one NHL-sized dry floor arena which operates with turf from November through March
